Output format

The result uses the standard XML declaration and Apple DTD, tab indentation and the same element names Xcode writes. Export normalizes formatting and does not preserve source comments, so review the diff before replacing a file in your repository.

Convert OpenStep text to XML

{ Name = "Example"; Enabled = YES; }

OpenStep uses braces, equals signs and semicolons. Legacy scalar tokens such as YES are strings in this parser, not typed booleans. Check types in the tree before exporting XML; comments and original whitespace are not retained.

For bplist00 files, use the binary-to-XML workflow and sample.

Frequently asked questions

Is OpenStep input supported?
Yes — the older { Key = "Value"; } format and .strings files are parsed too.
